Thus, this study aimed to explore the perceptions of employees’ that work at a private higher educational institution in terms of the affect artificial intelligence could have on job security. This study used a data collection technique that was qualitative in nature through the use of interviews that will allow for the gathering of in-depth information for the purpose of addressing the research problem. The data was interpreted through thematic and hermeneutic analysis. The study found that a large portion of the employees at a private higher educational institution would feel a sense of insecurity about their jobs as a result of the introduction of AI within higher education. The study however highlighted the fact that AI will be used in order to assist as well as enhance the teaching and learning experience rather than completely replacing the job of the teacher.
